Internet service providers and VPN networks are receiving lots of requests from people in quarantine around the world. There is a lockdown across the world and people are sent home due to the growing risks of the pandemic. Internet Service Providers are projecting huge growth in the use of VPN in the coming months. However, the growing demand for VPN is also increasing security risks for both companies and end-users.

According to recent reports from the top ten VPN firms, the demand for VPN has surged almost 50% only in March and it is expected to double in the coming days. In the United States, the demand has come down with a nominal ration that touched 65% of the ration in March alone.

The number of searches for VPN continued to increase just after the World Health Organization announcement of the pandemic on 11th March 2019, Simon Migliano told reporters. According to VPN experts, there has been an increase in the demand for VPN all over the world during the lockdown announced.

Since the lockdown in most of the countries are extended for a further indefinite period and social distancing measures were announced, the demand for VPN in 21 countries has double over the period. In some countries, the demand for VPN has increased by 200% and countries with the highest demand of VPN include France, the US, the UK, and Egypt.

Internet Service Providers and VPN providers are of the view that the demand that led to an increase in the VPN services constitute of individual consumers.  The latest report of the technology news magazine reveals that the surge in the use of VPN has increased the prices of VPN and more companies are offering services of VPN to the users.
