Rep. Tulsi Gabbard Sues Google For violation of Her Speech

Reportedly Google had suspended Tulsi Gabbard Advertisement account temporarily after her last speech, announced Gabbard recently. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard sued Google (Tech Company) on Thursday for $50 million, claiming that the company violated her right of free speech by suspending her account after the last Democratic presidential debate.

Gabbard while filing the lawsuit in Federal Court in Los Angeles against Google told that her advertising account was suspended for almost six hours just after the showdown in the last month. Gabbard is running for presidential race to beat President Donald Trump but failed to mark any significance in any of the recent polls.

Tulsi advertising campaign remained suspended and offline at the crucial time when Americans were seeking her profile over the internet, she said after the lawsuit. At the time, Google confused and concealed its actions with incoherent and inconsistent reasons. At the end of the campaign, Google never justified why Gabbard's account was offline at the time. Tulsi termed the act as an attempt by big tech companies to influence election campaigns by the act.

Tulsi in her suit demanded $50 million in damages and order by the court that would ultimately prevent such an act again in the future. The New York Times termed this act as a precedent of Republicans made in past elections but said that this is the first time any presidential candidate sued any tech company in the history. Google has denied any malicious contentions behind the suspension of the account, Google's spokesperson told while explaining it as an act automated by machine and since after that Gabbard's advertising account was reinstated.

“It was all automated process which flagged unusual activity on all accounts running advertisements to prevent fraud and protect to customers”, a spokesperson told the Associated Press.

Gabbard said the suspension was a threat to the system by the big tech company and she is committed to fighting against such acts of tech companies on behalf of Americans.
