Apple has just released
iOS 13 recently and included a new feature known as ‘FaceTime Attention
Correction’ which adjusts the eyes of the person making FaceTming even when a person is looking at the screen rather than focusing on the camera.
Naturally, a user looks
at the phone's screen to see another person when making FaceTime calls rather
then the camera of the phone which means you are not making eye contact with
the camera.
Mike Rundell has
discovered this feature and it included in new iOS 13 as a FaceTime Attention
Correction feature. Though it was introduced in iOS the feature was disabled in
the former operating system allowing users to make eye contact with the help of
software. This new feature is only available in iPhone XS, iPhone XR, and iPhone
XS Max but hopefully, it will work on other models as well in the future.
The new feature
reportedly worked well during the test and it will definitely change the
experience of users. Experts believe the feature uses an ARKit depth map to
change the position of the eyes and adjust them with the person you are talking
to. However, many users have found slight eye wrapping during the test and the
feature only works when enables in the iPhone.
Users have overwhelmingly
responded to the news and termed the feature as useless because it has nothing
to do with the performance of the phone, but they say this is just another way
of marketing by the companies and nothing significant in it.
